As we continue to experience some of the hottest days on record this July  , one question is increasingly on the minds of parents around the world: What kind of world are we leaving for our children? In Mexico, where a recent heat wave caused temperatures in Hermosillo to rise above 48 degrees, this question of climate change is no longer theoretical, but is present today. As CEO of HP based in Mexico, I share these concerns, both personal and professional. I believe that companies, like ours, have the responsibility, not only to recognize these concerns, but to promote sustainable solutions. A recent study by HP and Morning Consult found a telling statistic: 96% of parents in Mexico are deeply concerned about climate change, to the point that more than half are reconsidering their decisions about having more children. This shared anxiety demands more than words: it demands action. Mexico trends towards sustainability At HP, our answer is clear. We are committed to pursuing sustainable practices, transforming not only the way our products are made, but also redefining the essence of personal computing.

In Mexico, I have seen firsthand our nation's efforts to shift toward a more sustainable future. In 2022, Mexico recommitted to the Paris Agreement, setting ambitious climate action goals. This reflects a broader change in Mexican attitudes. The same study by HP and Morning Consult found that 69% of parents in Mexico prefer sustainably sourced products, and more than half are willing to pay more for these types of products. In my daily interactions with HP customers and partners, there has been a notable shift toward sustainable considerations. This Lebanon Phone Number List clear trend transcends parents' concerns; It is an emerging and consistent pattern in all companies and in society as a whole. Businesses are increasingly interested in HP's sustainable supply chain, our plans to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and our shift toward circular economy practices. Sustainability is no longer an optional feature or a future goal, it is an immediate priority and a fundamental aspect of business operations . Redesign products for a sustainable future Let me share with you an example of how at HP we are fulfilling our responsibility.

We start by rethinking the design and life cycle of personal computers. Instead of a linear approach from manufacturing to end of life, we have created a circular model where end of life is just the beginning. We have already started this with our range of HP Pavilion laptops, in whose design we have successfully integrated plastics from the oceans. But our commitment does not stop at the point of sale. We are creating a system to recover and recycle products once they reach the end of their useful life. Cooking oil, coffee waste and plastics from the oceans are materials that were previously considered waste, but now have another purpose of reducing our dependence on new virgin materials. Go further As a father, this mission touches my heart. The urgency of this activity is evident; Our children deserve a world in which technology and nature can coexist in harmony. Therefore, by 2030, at HP we aim to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions throughout our value chain and use 75% recycled or renewable content in our products and packaging. However, to achieve real impact, we need everyone's participation.
