The story of a responsible coffee In the fertile lands of the Tacaná Volcano Reserve in Chiapas, a story began that has transformed the way we enjoy this drink. Therefore, this responsible coffee has been the result of a meticulous production process. From planting the crop, shading and organic fertilization to harvesting, each step is executed with love and dedication. The Organic Producers of Tacaná joined the Productive Projects initiative of Grup in 2016, proving to be a model of sustainability, fair trade and social responsibility.

Therefore, more than 150 small producers joined this cause, contributing to a more efficient distribution chain since intermediaries are not required. An inspiring example of this project is the story of José, a passionate farmer who experienced hardship from a young age. Throughout 7 years of collaboration, a significant impact has been generated both on the local economy and on the quality of life of more than 1,650 people in the Volcano Biosphere Reserve. In 2022, the results speak for themselves. During the first three months of the year, 107 tons of parchment coffee were collected, generating a total income of more than 9 million pesos. This economic success not only benefits farmers, but also supports GRG's commitment to the community. In addition, the first coffee cupping was carried out, which confirmed the high quality of the bean, obtaining a score higher than 82 according to the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). International expansion has also been a notable achievement, as GRG exported coffee to Switzerland and the United States, generating additional income and promoting the quality of Mexican coffee in international markets. Likewise, the creation of the Sociedad  SPR de RL demonstrates the continued commitment to the development of the community. Another significant milestone in 2023 was the successful export of organic coffee to Orlando, Florida, United States. This achievement not only generated income for local producers, exceeding 500 thousand Mexican pesos, but also raised the prestige of the coffee produced in internationally. Therefore, this recognition is not only a source of pride for producers, but also opens new opportunities for economic growth and expansion for the community.
