MEPs demand investigation into war crimes in Yemen

A group of MEPs, including several Spaniards, has presented a resolution in the European Parliament demanding an independent investigation into possible war crimes committed in Yemen. The resolution also calls for sanctions to be imposed on those responsible for these human rights violations. The initiative comes against a backdrop of growing international pressure on the warring parties in Yemen, which has been at war for more than seven years. The United Nations has called the humanitarian crisis in Yemen the worst in the world, with millions of people on the brink of famine.

The resolution,  point out that "there is credible evidence that all parties to the conflict, including the Yemeni government, the Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition, have committed war crimes."
