La Rioja mourns a new death from COVID-19

La Rioja has registered a death from COVID-19 this Wednesday, according to the latest data issued by the regional government. On the other hand, one more day the drop in the 14-day accumulated incidence is confirmed from 498.57 cases per 100,000 inhabitants yesterday to 492.01 this Wednesday (6 points less), while active cases also have decreased, in this case compared to yesterday, from 1,009 to 977 (32 less). The healthcare pressure remains at the 42 it was yesterday.

As for the deceased person, he is an elderly man who did not reside in a senior center. Since the pandemic began, a total of 810 people have died from the disease, 323 of them residents of senior centers in our autonomous community.

Currently, and given the evolution of the virus in the region, the Rioja Government has 43 ICU beds at the San Pedro Hospital. In this way, adding those admitted for non-COVID pathologies (11 as of today, one more than yesterday), the Rioja ICU has 20 patients and is at 46.51 percent (about two points more than yesterday). For its part, the Calahorra Hospital Foundation registers a patient admitted to the ward for coronavirus (same as yesterday).
