A private nursing home in El Puig (Valencia) has been intervened by the Ministry of Health after an outbreak of COVID-19 was detected in which 107 residents and 31 workers were affected , which could lead to the opening of an information file.
This has been pointed out to EFE by sources from the Department Email Data of Equality and Inclusive Policies, who have indicated that they are waiting for the inter-centre commission (in which the Departments of Health and Equality are represented) to send them information on the circumstances. of the outbreak in the Savia residence, to see if an information file will be opened.
The residence, as stated on its website, has 124 residential places and 16 daytime places. The mayor of the Valencian municipality, Luisa Salvador , informed EFE this Thursday that the Ministry of Health is carrying out active surveillance at the El Puig nursing home, after "many cases" of coronavirus were detected.
According to Salvador, on Saturday three cases of COVID-19 were detected in the private center and on Monday he received a call from Public Health informing him that they were going to carry out an inspection of the residence. "Then she underwent surgery and was taken to the Sagunto Hospital ," she indicated.
For their part, sources from the Ministry of Health have confirmed the intervention of the residence and have indicated to EFE that it is one of the seven in which active surveillance is currently carried out (one in the province of Castellón, another in Alicante and five in Valencia).
